It’s been quite a while since I’ve last posted.. My tomatoes and peppers have produced a nice crop and guess what, although it’s fall, they are still blossoming and thankfully will have some more produce to harvest soon — I’ll be bringing them in to see how long they will keep bearing.
I’ve hit my fitness goals for the summer — becoming a stronger swimmer and start walking/running again. Done and done. There were no long distance travel plans on my agenda (pout), but none-the-less had a good time at home with family and my now 6 month old niece who is quite simply a bundle of joy who leaves me worn out at the end of the day with her tireless energy.
There are times when we stop and take a look around us and try to improve our lives in someway; whether it be from a physical aspect — losing weight, new clothes, different hairstyle — , learning a new skill be it for work or hobby, or making a change at home to make life better.
My mission encompasses a bit of each category mentioned above, but the top item on my list is decluttering my space. I have WAY too much stuff!! I started in my closet by removing clothes that can no longer fit and are still in great condition to donate (i need to decide if it should go to the Salvation Army. My preference is to give it to an institution who gives these items to people who are in need and cannot afford to purchase it; not to a place that will put them up for sale. I also gathered 4 bags of books - from novels to old text books - and instead of running around to different libraries to try to get rid of them I learnt about Better World Books (who it turns out the library sometimes donates books to) and went to one of their bins and unloaded my load. Still need to go thru the ones I held back to see if any are left that can go too. I like their ‘cause so I didn’t mind giving them my books. Check them out if you too have a lot of books you would like to clear from your space and aren’t sure what to do with. Please don’t toss them in the recycle bin.
My other mission is to learn new coding skills to make myself more marketable. After all this field I’m in is extremely competitive! And last, but not least, I try to get in some exercise every now and again. I used to go to the community center 2 or 3 times a week, but had to take a mini break and hope to be back to it next week since it didn’t work out that I go this week. And let’s not forget making time for family. I am currently in between projects and thankfully not bouncing off the walls ‘yet’, which affords me the time to be able to accomplish my undertakings.
